Cape Town to Hermanus
Cape Town to Hermanus
The road to Hermanus is a rare treat. Driving along Clarens Drive from Cape Town, the views of False Bay will be etched into your memory for many years to come. When we arrive in this delightful holiday town, we head straight for the cliffs of Walker Bay to see what our friends from the deep are up to. not always in a theatrical mood and could be performing their breathtaking dance far out at sea. In these cases, you could take a boat out to get a front-row seat.

Hermanus to Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
From Hermanus, we head deeper into the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Afrikaans/Dutch for Heaven and Earth) – a region celebrated internationally for its impeccable wines, particularly Chardonnay. We indulge ourselves in a wine tasting at Bouchard Finlayson or a similar wine estate. When it comes to exemplary wine estates, we’re spoiled for choice in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.

On the way back to Cape Town, we make a pitstop at Peregrine Farm Stall, a roadside restaurant and deli whose reputation for making the most delicious jams, preserves, tarts, pies and pastries is well known across the Cape. From here, we return via Sir Lowry’s Pass – with panoramic views of the False Bay coastline and, on a clear day, Cape Point.
